‘Coraline’ Trailer

Yesterday i saw the trailer of the movie ‘Coraline’. This is first time a stop-motion animated feature is being made into 3D.
Coraline looks pretty interesting. I like the cinematography and the concept of the movie looks pretty good. It’s like an even more disturbed Alice in wonderland…can’t wait to see it in 3D :)

Tips and Tricks by Shwan Kelly -ebook

Tips and Tricks by Shwan Kelly (12 MB) :D

To complement Shawn Kelly’s popular Tips & Tricks articles, Animation Mentor has launched a Tips & Tricks blog! This blog serves as a forum for people to ask questions about character animation. Host Shawn Kelly and Animation Mentor staff and associates will answer questions, provide tips and tricks, and share ideas about animating.

One of the animation resources that I always check out is the Animation Mentor Newsletter. The newsletters are great because you can always find great animation tips, interviews with industry greats, featured short films from AM students, and cool articles.

Jeff Gabor’s Comparison Reel

Jeff Gabor (Character Animator) recently posted his comparison reel in which you can view side by side, the reference, blocking, polish and final render passes of his shots. Many animators at Blue Sky use reference as an animation tool and Jeff Gabor seems to be an amazing actor and animator. Click on the image to view his Comparison Reel…
